These Stunning Nature Photography Will Give You a New Appreciation of Our Planet

Each photo is simply astounding! All of the breathtaking scenes show us a new way of seeing the world, one in which we rarely get to glimpse up close…

Every spring, the German Society for Nature Photography reviews thousands of entries from photographers around the world to award a single overall winner, as well as winners in the categories of Birds, Mammals, Other Animals, Plants and Fungi, Landscapes, and “Nature’s Studio.” This year, a special category — Water—was added to the group.

This year’s overall winner was Germany’s Peter Lindel, for his photo “A Hare’s Dream,” part of a series of photographs taken in his home city of Dortmund. Lindel’s winning entry was judged best out of more than 5,000 photographs submitted by members of the Society for Nature Photography. Judges were impressed by the patience and dedication required to capture such a beautiful shot in an area not known for its wildlife.

‘In addition to the winning entry, seven other categories awarded winners and runners up for an array of gorgeous natural photographs taken around the world from Iceland to Kuwait City.’
